“Description says it reads/writes DVD's and CD's but specs don't indicate anything other than DVD capability. My current ASUS is disappointing only because it doesn't read CD's, so I want to make sure my next one does.”

you have yo download something. don't get themicrosoft one it doesn't work. there is a free one. Its called vlc media player
