DDR3L is a special type of DDR3 RAM where L refers to low voltage standard. DDR3 uses 1.5V; DDR3L uses 1,35V. I am concluding that if your lap is designed for 1.35V it may not be able to fully power a chip expecting 1.5V and, therefore cause you issues. You may have to find out from the manual, or the manufacturer (or reputable source0 if this is true. I installed vanilla DDR3 on my ROG.
