12 GB is the maximum RAM possible on this model. There is one RAM module that can be changed, and another model that is soldered into the motherboard. This model has 4 GB soldered in and 8 GB in the removable slot. That's 12 total. (If you look on YouTube, you'll find a guy that does an upgrade on a Q551 - that on came with 4 GB in that socket. He also talks about changing the HDD to an SSD.)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It can take up to 16g, was not that hard to install. Manually configure afterwards to "turn on" the full 16 as 12 shows as useable. My pc worked instantaneously better as well just after i increased the virtual memory. I bumped that up to 32g.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.NO, the RAM is not upgradeable. If you purchased the machine with 12 GB of RAM, 4 GB is soldered(!) in and 8 GB (max) is in the socket. If you run the Crucial app, it will tell you that you can. I thought that until I opened it. What a huge disappointment. Asus really cheaped out!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You have to open up the whole bottom panel to gain access to the entire motherboard and switch out your RAM. It only has one slot.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.go to you tube videos and search for updating ram. I can't see why your adding more memory; 12 GB is not enough for you?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Installing ram is an easy task, first you'd power down your machine use gloves to remove any chance of killing your machine with static electricity. Pop out the already installed ram and replace it with compatible ram, consult your geek squad rep. However, I do think the first response you received concerning this matter is accurate, you can't increase the ram for this machine. If you can, then following these steps should find you on your way.
