- Answer i'm not about to test it but i would assume like a regular cd/dvd rom drive they are meant to be horizontally mounted with pressure going down for stability. maybe contact maker and they can better answer this question.

- Answer Could be - maybe that is why it is so inexpensive? I installed it in my new computer which after I built it - not so surprising - there are better pieces of hardware introduced by manufacturers that are faster and cheaper then my one month old build. When it comes to DVD players - since this is old technology that is fading away as more people just use the internet, or thumb drives to get the same information that we get on DVD players.

- Answer My version is 2004 and it works fine on it. 1909 was released Nov. of last year, so there should be no reason it wouldn't work. At worst you might need to install driver which is included.

- Answer Maybe. It may depend on vintage of the drive, and where and when you buy it. None of the specs or documentation indicates it supports M-discs, however, on the unit I just bought from Best Buy there is a M-Disc emblem on the front of the CD tray. I haven't tried using it with any M-Discs yet though. If M-Disk is important you may want to look at LG drives.
