• Its not backlit - just cheap lettering. I can't read it well either.

• No. Actually the keyboard isn't the best. The letters/symbols are not very visible at all. I must be getting old

• No the keyboard that comes with this machine isn't back-lit. I have to agree with you there, the keys are hard to read in dim light. This wouldn't be the keyboard you'd want to use in complete darkness. Though, you shouldn't be using a computer in complete darkness either. It's terrible on your eyes. Hope this answers your question. I own this computer.
