The best way I have found is by creating a Windows Image. Don't create a recovery Disk. Action Center>Windows Settings>(Search for "File History")>Select "Restore your files with File History">Configure File History Settings>System Image Back up>Create a system image. Select your external Drive (or a different drive other than the OS/ C: drive) and finish the process. When you want to restore, Just hold shift while restarting your PC. It will boot into recovery. you can then restore from System image and it will restore your image to the one you created. (Do this once you have everything on Windows set up exactly how you want it.)
