“I tried to connect the laptop to LG 27UD68 using the HDMI port, but in display settings I only see 1920x1080 as the max resolution. Since this laptop comes with an i7 + HD620 I thought it could drive a 4k monitor. Do anyone have any advice?”

Make sure you install the drivers for the monitor, also make sure that you have the settings on the monitor set to 4k. This is a pretty common problem with that monitor. The computer can output in 4k. If all else fails try disabling the display on the laptop.
