• I had the X10 and yes it's better than that one, don't know about the X8

• I have never used the Netgear, but this is a very fast router with decent coverage. It is definitely geared towards gamers and speed.

• This router is amazing, I have not tried the other router but did consider that brand. I bought this for a Senior Center and the router we replaced was a Linksys which did not cover our building and the signal dropped off as you moved away from the router. This ASUS with 8 antennas gives us a signal through the whole building and the 5G band does not drop strength even when at the far ends of the building. I believe this is the best router out there. This is the model I purchased AUSU ROG Rapture AC5300, Best Buy SKU:5775807.
