• yes, you can replace it. I heard this one is pretty bad....didn't suffer with it yet since when I go wireless, the bottleneck becomes the network I would be in (e.g. hotels)

• Not sure about upgradability, but it is NOT a 2x2. It is a 1x1 antenna. One of it's few caveats.
