It should work. I use it to watch movies on my Firestick, although it does not run as fast as I would like. Many times I have to run the movie on a lower video quality so there is no buffering. Sometimes it seems like the time of day affects the speed. I am also using a very old Firestick, probably about 6-7 years old. When I use other apps on my Smart TV I have no buffering issues and can watch movies in 4K, so I think it a Firestick thing.
