my phone has 5 lines can this be used on 1 line? null

I just bought this and it has a place for one phone line jack in and out, as well as the electrical plug. The one plug goes into the wall phone line jack and I have a caller ID box that I plug into this machine and the actual phone plugged into the caller ID. I hope that helps.
