The ATR6550x Shotgun Microphone features a 3.5mm TRS type plug for use with a 3.5mm MIC input jack. The plug is the Tip, Ring, Sleeve type which typically indicates a stereo connection but, in this case, it is wired as dual mono in order to put the signal on both the Left and Right sides of a stereo audio track because the 3.5mm MIC jack on equipment today is typically a stereo jack. If you have an interface that has only an XLR type MIC input jack, consider a different model microphone, such as the AT897 instead.
