yes...the key or it turns by hand if your using from inside house.
It’s a deadlock control that replaces the knob on the inside of the door. The key lock on the outside of the door is still available.
If the batteries die in both the key pad and the August lock you are able to use your original key for your lock.
There is no back up if you forget to change the batteries other than using an alternate door. As well as there is no way to open the lock if you happen to leave your phone at home or as I have done many times, left my phone inside while walking a friend out or taking the trash out and the door auto locks. A trip through the garage is often needed in our case..lol The lock does its job wonderfully. In hindsight, for our family, I should have bought a lock with an outside back up entry method. I will be ordering the bluetooth accessory keypad to remedy our issues with being locked out of our home.
There are no batteries on the main unit and the regular remote works as usual.
I do not believe so, unfortunately.
You can use the your locks key.
Yes. You can manually open the lock with a key or you can use your phone app. I believe the app and the keypad will give low battery warning.
