It replaces just the inside part. You still need a regular deadbolt installed on your door.

It matches most deadbolts, but there are some exceptions. The connect is required to provide wifi access to the smart lock, otherwise you an only connect via bluetooth (very short range). With the connect you can check who used the lock and when from anywhere.

A nice benefit of this device, is that you can continue to use your existing key that you already have. You’re basically just replacing the turning lever that you use to lock the door on the inside of your house.
