I added a metal stick on and then plugged the unit in using my charger cord and the Phone charged but was hot when I went to take it off. I'm still using it that way but don't recommend. A:AnswerMy series seven started working right away, If I remember correctly, I think either the watch or the stand had a small plastic protective cover on it, so you may want to check that they were remove from the back of the watch and the stand.
