- Answer No, this isn't made to go on a cooktop at all. It's a stand-alone electric skillet, and can be placed on your countertop, a heat-safe table, etc. Do not place it on a heat source. You just need to place it near a plug for an electricity source.

- Answer I would think so if you have enough oil in the pan but not so much it splashes out during frying. The pan is 2inches deep and the control goes up to 450.

QuestionI'm not asking what the material is made of "free from what and can be answered by "It is a non-stick coating that is PFOS and PFOA free" just simply say it's made from mostly "ceramic" clay, titanium. So, what is the material that is touching the food?

- Answer It is not ceramic. It appears to be just old black Teflon. I wish it were ceramic.

QuestionHello, this pan is great! I have thrown frozen steaks on there and had them cook up juicy and delicious very quickly. Washing is also easy. QUESTION: I was lazy and used metal forks. Is it still safe with a few scratches?

- Answer It's slow to cook vegetables than usual, but you need to be patient. Also, the non-stick surface is not that good if you have very sticky meat to put on. However, you can use non-stick spray on the surface of the skillet prior to cooking.
