Thank you for the question! Devices purchased outside of Best Buy would still be covered for software services and troubleshooting services. For example if you purchase a computer outside of Best Buy and get a virus this would be covered but if it has a cracked screen it would not have hardware coverage. The Totaltech plan would discount hardware repairs on that device even if not purchased with us though. Items purchased at Best Buy would automatically get the additional hardware coverage called Best Buy Protection Plan for up to 24 months added at time of purchase.
