Q: QuestionWhat are the main differences between this model and the SHE3AR75UC functionally? It looks like the SHE3AR75UC has a self clean filter and this one doesn't? Are the status sensors, tub/side materials, etc all the same?
Asked by pilateschica.
- A:Answer The answer from the Bosch representative is incorrect. Both models have a sanitize operation. This model (the newer 100 series) has a Rinse cycle, whereas the older model Ascenta series (misidentified on the Best Buy website as 100 series) has a Half Load cycle. Also, this model has a small Utility Rack above the upper rack for longer items, like kitchen knives, whisks, spatulas, etc.

Q: QuestionWhere is the steam vent located on this model?
Asked by Beckarena.
This question was asked about the related product: Bosch - 100 Series 24" Front Control Built-In Hybrid Stainless Steel Tub Dishwasher with PureDry, 50 dBA - White
- A:Answer Hi Beckarena. Thank you for your question. The 100 Series Dishwasher is a completely sealed system with no vents or fans. It has Condensation Drying. The final rinse uses high-temperature water to make the dishes very hot. The stainless steel tub of the dishwasher cools faster than your dishes because stainless steel cools faster than glass and porcelain. Condensation occurs when the moist air in the dishwasher comes into contact with the cooler stainless steel tub, and turns into water droplets. These water droplets trickle down to the bottom of the dishwashers and are drained. Since it’s a closed system with no fan, the cleaning process is more sanitary. With no exposed heating element, plastic utensils and dishes places on the lower rack will not melt. The use of rinse agents, such as Jet Dry®, aids the condensation drying process by reducing the surface tension of water. This in turn allows the water on your dishware surfaces to run off more freely, so they dry better.

Q: QuestionWhat do i need to do for the dishes to dry after cycle. Is there something i am missing.
Asked by DRY.
- A:Answer Bosch dishwashers have no heating element in the tub to dry dishes. They just use superheated water during the last rinse so that they dry naturally inside the tub. You have to let them sit for several hours before they are completely dry. But this method minimizes damage to dishes and glassware since heating elements can ruin things.

Q: QuestionIs bosch 100 ser. has water leak sensor ?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hi there, thank you for your question and interest in Model:SHEM3AY55N. The 100 Series Dishwasher has 24/7 Overflow Protection which is a precisely engineered tub and sensor system that detects leaks in the base of the tub in the dishwasher, shuts down operation and automatically pumps out water through the drain hose. This will work even when the dishwasher is powered off.

Q: QuestionWhat is a hybrid stainless steel interior?
Asked by Gerrie.
This question was asked about the related product: Bosch - 100 Series 24" Front Control Built-In Hybrid Stainless Steel Tub Dishwasher with PureDry, 50 dBA - White
- A:Answer The description on BB is very misleading. The description explicitly leaves out the HYBRID in front of stainless steel and so you could unwittingly purchase thinking you're getting full stainless steel in the tub. I have no idea how BB (and less likely Bosch) thought that was appropriate. At other distributors, the description lists it appropriately in the description. The top review is also misleading talking about the stainless steel tub, but if you look farther down others point out the plastic tub and stainless steel door.

Q: QuestionCan the dry cycle be turned off on this model
Asked by Anonymous.
This question was asked about the related product: Bosch - 100 Series 24" Front Control Built-In Hybrid Stainless Steel Tub Dishwasher with PureDry, 50 dBA - White
- A:Answer Hi there. Thank you for your question. All Bosch dishwashers dry through condensation drying, which takes place after the final rinse. If you prefer for the dishwasher not to dry, you could not utilize the sanitize option, which raises the last rinse temperature to 162 degrees and not use rinse aid, both of which enhance the drying process.

Q: QuestionWhy is there water/condensation in the dishwasher two days after use? This is unsanitary.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hi there, thank you for your question regarding Model:SHEM3AY55N. There are a few reasons why you may see water/condensation in your dishwasher. The following 7 Steps to Drying may help with this. (1.) Scrape… don’t rinse. (2.) Always use ‘Auto’ option. Auto adjusts the time, pressure and temperature as needed. (3.) Always use ‘Sanitize’ or ‘Extra Dry’ Option. (4.) Always use Finish® Quantum Tablets. (5.) Always use Rinse Aid. (6.) Wait a minimum of 10 minutes after the dishwasher is done to open the door. (7.) Always unload from the bottom up. Also make certain not to block the condensation port on the left side of the dishwasher with a cutting board or other tall item as that needs to be open to help drain. Q: QuestionHow do you clean the filter and how often?
Asked by Marla.
- A:Answer Hi Maria, thank you for your question regarding Model:SHEM3AY56N. Depending on use habits and water hardness, the filter system will require some maintenance to sustain premium cleaning performance. Your filter system may need to be cleaned when: You notice food soils remaining on the filter system or objects trapped in the Large Object Trap. A drop in cleaning performance or a gritty film forms on the dishware. When washing normally attached food soils that have been scraped before loading, in a household that runs the dishwasher every other day, your filter should be cleaned: 3 times a year - if you rinse before loading, 4 times a year - if you only scrape before loading, 6 times a year - if you do not rinse or scrape before loading, 12 times a year - if you have hard water. Clean the filter after washing loads with large amounts of food soils or loads with a heavy starch content, like potatoes and pasta, to maintain optimal performance. To clean the filter: Unscrew the Large Object Trap and remove the entire filter system. Remove the microfilter from the fine filter for easier cleaning. Rinse the filters under running water and use a soft brush to clean. Note: do not use abrasive brushes or steel wool, etc., as they may damage the filter. Reinstall the filter system in reverse sequence and lock into place by screwing the Large Object Trap until the marking arrows align.
