Short answer: I don’t know. Detailed answer: I don’t know if the racks are a steel alloy or aluminum. Since there is not much mass I wouldn’t think the weight advantage of aluminum would outweigh the cost advantage of steel. I don’t know if the coating is a nylon thermoplastic or a polyester thermosetting plastic. Nylon would be my guess since it is more resistant to abrasion and the temperatures are not high enough to need a polyester. This was a replacement for a Bosch and I had no issues with the durability of the racks in the old Bosch.
