  • Features
    • Hard Food Disposer: false (This feature has blades to chop and disintegrate hard food particles, making them small enough to easily drain away. This prevents them from being recirculated back onto dishware and allows for easy maintenance.)
    • Drying Method: Condenser drying (Appliances that use heat to dry the dishes will include a heating element or minerals which transform moisture into heat. A fan or vent then circulates the hot dry air throughout the tub during the drying cycle. This may reduce drying time and the risk of water spots. Appliances that use minerals to produce heat are considered more energy efficient than those that include a heating element. Appliances that use condensation drying are considered more energy efficient than those that use heated drying. Instead, high temperature water is produced during the final rinse cycle which warms the interior and eventually condensates and drains out of the machine.)

Q: any comments on the drying feature--does the machine dry plastics?

A: My Bosch dishwasher does not totally dry plastics. From what I'm reading elsewhere plastics are an issue with all makes/models. I just know when I unload that I'll need a dish towel to wipe off some water from the plastics. Everything else comes out dry and clean.

Q: Does this model have a water softener?

A: Yes you can add the salt in a special cone. I do not know who's work but without it my dishes still perfect !!

Q: How long are the wash and dry cycles. Particularly is there a short cycle?

A: Hi Tiredofshopping, thank you for your question and interest in Model:SGE68X55UC. Here are the cycle times for this Dishwasher: Heavy Cycle: 110-135 minutes, Auto Cycle: 105-129 minutes, Normal Cycle: 130-135 minutes, you can also select the Sanitize Option with those Cycles which will add approximately 10-20 minutes. This also has an Eco Cycle: 80-85 minutes, Express Cycle: 30 minutes and a Rinse Cycle: 9 minutes.

Q: What Drying technology ? PureDry or Crystal Dry ?

A: Hi hdtv. Thank you for your question. The 800 Series Bosch Dishwasher, Model #SGE68X55UC features Pure Dry technology.

Q: We need a smaller dishwasher since the measurement from our cement floor to the counter is 33 7/8 inches and the kitchen has flooring installed over the original tile. This one will fit but I'd like to know how many inches the feet can be raised up?

A: We had Best Buy install it. There was plenty of room. The adjustment was inches. We were in exactly the same boat as you. The tile floor we installed made the opening really small. This is a great dishwasher.

Q: Are any of the tines adjustable on either the lower or middle racks?

A: They are not adjustable. The middle rack does move up an down and locks in three positions. However, if the middle rack is not in the highest position my dinner plates are too tall to fit in the bottom rack. Additionally, with the middle rack in the highest position there is not room for large glasses without removing the top rack. I should add that I am happy with this Bosch and recommend it.

Q: Is this washer quiet when running and does it have a decent silverware basket?

A: Hi wesley, thank you for your question and interest in Model:SGE68X55UC. This Dishwasher is 44 dBA and does have a silverware basket as well as a third rack for silverware.
