• A:Answer Hi sandy. Thank you for your question. The 800 Series Electric Slide-in Range Oven Vent: The oven vent is located at the top back of the range. Warm air may be released from the vent before, during and after cooking. It is normal to see steam escaping from the vent and condensation may collect in this area. This area may be hot when the oven is in use. Do not block the vent as it is important for air circulation.

Q: QuestionWe currently have a 30 inch which the range width is 29 3/4 wide . We would like to replace the range with a Bosch . Although I see from the dimensions the 30 inch range measures 31 3/4. Does Bosch have a 800 series that would fit in that space.?

• A:Answer Yes we also have a 30 inch opening the actual box is 29. 3/4 but the glass top overhangs bring it to the 31 3/4 the bosh fit in perfectly! Highly recommend this product we love it!

Q: QuestionThis range has the slide-over counter edges.I love the style and had one that chipped when a half-empty wine bottle fell over onto it. Definitely not very much weight yet enough to break off a small chunk. How resistant to breakage is the Bosch glass top?

While the glass ceramic cooking surface is a durable material resistant to impact it is not unbreakable if a pan or other object is dropped on it. The Use and Care Manual will give you full care and cleaning instructions. As an example: Per the Use and Care Manual: Here are some cookware tips for keeping the cooktop scratch free: Use of pots and pans with rounded (either concave or convex) warped or dented bottoms should be avoided. Make sure the bottom of the pot or pan being used is clean and dry. Use pots and pans with thick, smooth metal bottoms. Do not slide metal pots across the cooktop. Pans may leave marks which need to be removed immediately. Do not use glass pans as they may scratch the surface.

• A:Answer Hi Berni. Thank you for your question. Here are some suggestions from the Use and Care Manual, page 29 for this Model #HEI8056U: Before Use Care: Care is easy when preventative steps are taken. For example, apply a small amount of glass ceramic cooktop cleaner (packaged with range) on a daily basis. This provides a protective film that makes it easy to remove water spots or food spatters. The temperature of the cooking surface reduces the protective qualities of this cleaner. It must be reapplied before each use. Use a clean cloth and apply glass ceramic cooktop cleaner before each use to remove dust or metal marks that can occur on the counter level surface between uses. Daily Cleaning Techniques 1. Clean the surface when completely cool with the glass ceramic cooktop cleaner. Exception: Remove dry sugar, sugar syrup, tomato products and milk immediately with the razor blade scraper (See Cooktop Care Chart, next page). 2. Wipe off spatters with a clean, damp sponge or paper towel. Rinse and dry. Use white vinegar if smudge remains; rinse. 3. Apply a small amount of the glass ceramic cooktop cleaner. When dry, buff surface with a clean paper towel or cloth. Using the Razor Blade Scraper Use the scraper to remove dried or baked on foods.

Q: QuestionI would like to store my pots and pans in the drawer. How high is the drawer. Description says the drawer is a warming drawer. Does that mean it is not suitable for storage of pots and pans.

• A:Answer The warming drawer has about a 4.5" clearance. You may not be able to put regular size pots and pans in there but I do store several of my baking pans in there. Re: cookie sheets, etc.

Q: QuestionHi! How important is the anti-tipping device for this range? It’s so heavy I can’t imagine it would ever tip. The floor is ceramic tile and the deliverers don’t drill into tile. What type of drill and bit is needed, and who could be hired to drill it in?

This particular model is designed to fit into a cutout space for a built-in look. Q: QuestionCan the rear vent trim be easily removed for cleaning on my Bosch 800 series induction oven?
