Yes it does. There is a button on the bottom corner to release the phone so you can just take it out.

In order to remove your phone from this car holder, you release the mechanism holding the phone in place so the phone easily comes out instead of fighting the spring action on other car holders. Since this type of holder does not require you to pull the phone out, it stays attached to the vent. Hope this helps!
