- Answer Unfortunately we don't test with Neat software, but the Brother DS640 software for Windows includes a TWAIN driver which will be compatible with many scanning applications.

- Answer The Brother DS640 machine is a convenient mobile scanner. You can adjust the name of the file using the software in the computer, it will add the date if desired by the end user.

- Answer Well. If you've got the ability to install software on the desktop and you have one USB port open, then yes this will be compatible with it. I am using this mini-scanner on a desktop right now.

- Answer I just tested this (after Best Buy emailed to ask on your behalf) and mine is not searchable, HOWEVER I have only scanned student papers that were heavily marked up. I did not scan plain typed documents. I will say I am really happy with it: good quality, easy to use, super portable.
