• Yes the Brother MFCL3780CDW does support printing black if one or more colors are empty.

• Oh no. Not from my experience at all. I recently purchased it, and I ran out of yellow, and it will not let me do a single thing past that screen of letting me know that it’s empty. It won’t even let me copy or even send a fax! So frustrating.
