I don't know of any smart bulb intended for heavy duty use like winter weather, you may want to look into motion sensing outdoor bulbs, as there are plenty of options in that department.

If you're wanting color control, you'll want to look at the C-Sleep/Tunable White, which has 4 shades of white: Ivory, Daylight, Soft White, and Candlelight. A:AnswerI installed mine on a ceiling fan. It works fine. If you want to run a program to turn on the lights when you’re not home, have the lights on (chain and switch flipped on), and turn off the lights on the app. That way they’re connected to power and they’ll work just fine

Yes. You can use your Google home mini as the hub for the lights without needing your existing hub. Keep in mind the bluetooth range of the bulbs is less than other technologies such as Z-Wave, etc. I have multiple home minis throughout my house that provide lots of Bluetooth mesh coverage for all of my bulbs. Basically, I have a mini in each room. This is probably way overkill though.
