QuestionCould we get a GE rep to answer whether the burners can be lit with an external lighter or matches during a power outage. This is important information to have clarified as we often loose power.. Thank you for your assistance.

QuestionDoes the upper oven use the broiler 'high heat' element to help preheat the oven faster? Does the upper oven on the dual fuel model preheat faster then the gas model that is a little less expensive?

QuestionCan the oven doors be left open during broiling to prevent the food from baking at the same time?

- Answer Hi Margaret- We're excited to hear of your interest! Per the Owner's Manual, always broil with the oven door closed. Monitor food closely while broiling. Use caution when broiling; placing food close to the broil element or burner increases smoking, spattering and the possibility of fats igniting. It is not necessary to preheat when using the Broil modes. The Broil High mode uses intense heat from the upper element or burner to sear foods. Broil Low mode uses less intense heat from the upper element or burner to cook food thoroughly while also browning the surface. - Answer Hi Nan- GE Café™ Series Dual-Fuel Range C2S995SELSS is not equipped with downdraft venting. We currently do not offer a gas range with downdraft venting. Most range or cooktop models do not require a ventilation system; however, we recommend checking the local residential codes in your area to see if one is required. QuestionOne of the pictures shows the range with a "lip" going over the adjacent counter top. What needs to be purchased with the range to have this lip over ALL sides if installing in a peninsula or island? Is this attached to the range or just the counter?

- Answer Hi WittyShihTzu- Thanks for choosing our restaurant-inspired GE Café™ Series! Optional Slide-in Range Filler Kit JXFILLR1SS (Stainless Steel) attaches to the countertop (sold separately). After JXFILLR1SS is installed, the range can still be pulled out if needed (for cleaning, service, etc.) since the trim is attached to the countertop, not the range. If your range is to be installed in an island configuration, left, right, and rear trim pieces are recommended (Mounts with 3M Adhesive- Durable-heat and grease resistant). - Answer Hi Fred- We are excited to hear of your interest in our GE Café™ Series! Model C2S995SELSS features a Traditional Upper Oven and Convection Lower Oven. You can certainly choose the "Bake (traditional)" option in both ovens and cook the same recipe with same results. The Convection Bake mode (lower oven) is intended for baking on multiple racks at the same time. This mode uses air movement from the convection fan to enhance cooking evenness.
