Thanks for asking! We appreciate the interest and we're glad we can help. We found that since this model has vents located near the rear of the cooktop. These vents provide the air inlet and outlet that are necessary for the range to keep cool and operate properly with correct combustion. Therefore, external ventilation to the outside is not required. Hope this helps!
