A:AnswerIt does lean back . But be aware. My husband a thin man . Not over weight at all . The seat cushion is already broke down after 2 months use . There is a screw sticking thru the right arm padding . You do have to put the chair together , But the arm padding is already assembled . So no fixing the over sized screw that sticks upward into your arm . Beautiful chair but way over priced and the quality is crap . I wish I had not bought this .
