Yes it will work on a Canon T6. You need to line up red dot on lens to red dot on camera. Your ef-s lens lines up with white square. Keep in mind that this lens will give you a 160 mm field of view ,as your crop factor is 1.6. This a very good lens, I use it for portraits on a canon 80D. You may also like the ef 85mm f1.8 lens
