This camera has a 35mm zoom focal length equivalent of 24-100mm. It's not going to give you the reach you need for wildlife photography. Look at Canon's SX70, the successor to the SX60 which I think has been discontinued. It has a zoom focal length equivalent of 21-1365mm. This will give you the reach you need. Or the SX540 if you're on a budget. It's got a similar focal length of 24-1200mm. It's the focal length of the lens that's important.
