• A:Answer Bill if you are talking about the hardwired door opener on the wall, or a wireless number keypad, or a wireless remote in your vehicle they all will still work granted you don’t press and hold the learn button more than 6 seconds and droop all programmed codes. The Smart Garage Control is basically a wireless door sensor providing position to the “hub” (is the door up or down) and a internet gateway to have access via the app. I hope I answered your question. What I don’t know is if I have something in the way of the floor sensors if the Smart Garage Control will override the sensors or not. I doubt it because they are hardwired but if you have wireless ones that may be a concern. I had the 888LM and internet gateway which was basically the Smart Garage Control 6 years ago and the wall opener itself still operates the up/down action from the wall with the Smart Garage Control connected.

Q: QuestionCan anyone confirm if this works with Marantec openers? I couldn't find any information on the MyQ website so I'm going to guess that it doesn't but if anyone knows for sure this will be greeat.

• A:Answer Yes and no. I have a Marantec and by itself it only shows you if the door is open or closed, but you can’t get it to open or close without buying an additional part. I went on Amazon and ordered a Linear MDR for $20 and it works great. You will have to search YouTube, but there is a video where a guy shows you what you need and how to install. Super easy and worth the money to buy this and the extra $20 part.

Q: QuestionWill this work if we've lost all our remotes for the existing opener? If so, would it allow us to program a new opener, or the opener built into a vehicle? I have a vehicle that I've never been able to program and they no longer make openers for ours.

• A:Answer If you've lost your original remotes you could use your phone via the myQ app to open/shut the garage door without ever using any remotes again. As far as the built-in garage door opener set-ups that many vehicles have incorporated into their windshield-mounted rear-view mirrors... hmm.... you may be stuck on that. Whenever I've programmed those set-ups I've always had to use an original remote.
