A:Answer I have a 2011 Nissan Murano (also with push button start), the system installed bypasses the need for the key to be in the vicinity of the vehicle to start. Technically, you don’t need the key with you, I can verify as I left my keys at home and I was able to get to and from work, but in that instance, I could only start and unlock using the Compustar remote or the mobile app (I used the app), and the “no key detected” warning was active the whole time. As far as having to start and stop when you get in, it’s unnecessary. You start the car using the remote and you have 15 minutes to initiate the “takeover.” Basically you have 15 minutes to put the car in gear, otherwise the car shuts off and you would have to start the car normally or use the remote. If you start normally, there is no timer. There is a timer if the doors are open for too long but I haven’t quite figured out how long that is, it’s just much shorter than 15 minutes. Hope this clarifies your questions.
