“If I plug this 4 pin into a 3 pin power source will it still light up? or does it need a 4 pin?”

• It may light up but you won't get full fan functionality. The 4 pin adapter allows you to control the rate at which the fans spin which is must better for sound efficiency and customization.

• As I will be replacing the fan in my egpu Razer Core X this unit you cannot control fan settings anyways so that feature is complete negated. Thanks for your answer Andrew!!!
