It has a chopping blade which will result in purée if you want.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This food processor has a main knife blade like most food processors. It will do a fairly good job of pureeing ingredients (like tomatoes). If you need truly liquefied/pureed prep, then a blender is the tool of choice, but this processor is way more versatile and will do 95% of what you want. It has a medium capacity bowl (which is specifically why I bought it) so for large volumes of chopping/pureeing you may have to do it in batches. Don't try to make mashed potatoes (in any food processor). They will come out gummy like glue (but you could pulse the cooked potatoes into little chunks, then add the milk, butter, and other ingredients in a separate bowl and finish combining by hand).
