- Answer No it doesn't. once the extender is set up to your home network, it can be moved to another room to provide better WiFi coverage in the area.

- Answer My answer is no, you need to be able to connect the router to the extender by pressing the wps button on both ends. I tried it at work which the exterder just turnd on red and wont change, i didnt have access to the router. I thought this was just a repeater i am still searching.

- Answer Just follow the instructions. You will need to know where the "Send Signal Button" is on your router. It took me several tries to get them to read each other, but once they connected, it works great. I put it the middle of the house and it reaches upstairs very well.

- Answer I need to make a correction to my answer about to the question--does the D-Link need to be hooked up to the modem? After further review in my owner's manual I stand corrected you do not have to have the modem hooked up to the D LINK DAP1330 802.11N 300 MBIT/S WIREL. My apologies for the wrong information and I hope it didn't ruin your day.

QuestionWill this help me boost my optimum hot spot? Cuz I don't have my own internet but I am signed up for optimum and can get it from only certain parts of my house. So does this only work if I have a modem/router or can it work with a regular hot spot?

- Answer As far as your modem goes--yes it will work with it. Will it work without being connected to the modem? No--it will not. It has to be connected to the modem via the modem cable included in the box.

QuestionMy question- I live in a 70 'trailer and the modem is in the front bedroom. I am unable to get wyfi in my back room...... Will this extender work that far from the modem????? Thank you for your assistance....

- Answer It should work for what you need. You would place it between the modem and your back room, preferably somewhere that it is within a line of sight between the two points. The worst that can happen is you try it and if it doesn't work, return it to the store.

- Answer Possibly, I have it in my master room and it reaches fine through a couple walls to the living room. I do not see why 1 wall dividing 2 rooms wont reach.
