I don't know why it would not work. I use my 5020L's remotely via the internet. At the camera end, you do not need a computer. You only need a router (wired ethernet or wi-fi) and an internet connection. At the viewing end, you need an internet connection and some PC/Mac software (e.g., iSpy) or Android or iPad app (e.g., IP Camera Viewer for PC) Or you can use the MyDlink Services, which are free for the basics (I think...I don't use them...I use the software listed above). Using the software or DLink services, you can pan, tilt, operate the LED's, and a lot more. It's quite amazing....it works! If you are not tech-savvy, you may wish to get the assistance of somebody who is. Depending on which route you take, you may need some detailed knowledge about how to set up static IP addresses, port-forwarding, etc. If you go the DLink services route and use the setup wizard, however, I think it's a pretty painless setup even for novices.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You would just need a wireless network in her home, or possibly arrange a shared wireless situation with a neighbor, if she is in an apartment building. Also, to set up the camera, you need a computer. A laptop would be fine, but any updates would require you to bring the laptop to her home.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The camera needs a WiFi connection to send you the picture. It also will broadcast sound so you can hear her as well. Good picture for the price.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will need her to have at least Internet access with a modem/router. The camera connects wired or wirelessly. On your end, you just need Internet access. Please note. This is for real time viewing only and the cameras need reset from time to time. To record you will need additional hardware.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You must have internet access to set up the camera at its current location either with wired serviced or wireless internet network connectivity. If you have a laptop you can set up the camera to the local network located on the premises and after initial setup you will no longer need a computer or laptop on site. You will be able to access the camera for viewing and operation via any internet connection once you setup and add the camera to your mydlink account. You may also set up and access the camera via your mobile phone or iPad if you choose to download and install our mobile app. Thank you for choosing D-Link.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We thank you for your input and comments. Please note that in order for the camera to work it must have either a wireless connection or a wired connection to the internet. If there is no internet connection for the camera to be set up on at its current location you will not be able to access it. If there is an internet network available on the premises then you can set up the camera on the network with a portable computer or laptop and then once the camera has been configured and added to your mydlink acount you will no longer need the laptop for access as you will be able to access the camera from anywhere there is an internet connection via your mydlink account or via your mobile device if you download and install the mobile app onto your iPad or mobile phone. Thank you for choosing D-Link.
