QuestionCan this system be directly connected to existing power sources, in the garage ? To view the outside of the house on the pad screen do you need to connect to Home WIFI?

- Answer Thanks for a great question Issy. The cameras and Monitor include their own power adapters, these power adapters are required to ensure safe operation of the cameras and monitor. The use of any 3rd party power sources is not supported by Defender. This system does not have remote viewing features, it can only be viewed on the included monitor which must be within the wireless range of the cameras (450 feet maximum, 150 feet optimum).

- Answer Great question Needy. Regrettably we do not offer or support signal boosters or antenna extensions. We would recommend looking into the Defender Wireless HD system for longer range options.

- Answer Not for this unit, you can purchase the HD Version for $349 and hook up an HD TV to that one.

- Answer Great question! The operating temperature of the PhoenixM2 camera is 14°F ~ 104°F (-10°C ~ 40°C). Within these ranges you will not experience any issues.

QuestionI need a 60-100 feet extension cord to connect from the camera to plug into the power outlet. Do I need a cord from Defender or any universal extension cord? A BNC extension cord for an HD camera did not work. Thanks.

- Answer Thank you for your question. We do not sell extensions for this model. Your best option would be an electrical extension cord designed and rated for the environment you're installing in.

QuestionI have the one camera model. I need a longer extension cord to reach the outlet. Do you sell a 60 to 100 feet extension cord? The associate recommended the BNC extension cord for an HD camera but it doesn't fit.

- Answer The wireless models if outdoors use a outdoor extension cord. If it's wired you need the exact cable to match.

Question1 Is there a battery powered back up should the power go off? 2 can it detect and record through a window? I would like to mount it indoors pointing at the door which has a big window.......this is a covered entry way, so there would be no sun glare.

- Answer Hello Linda, Thank you for your questions. Should you lose power, the cameras would not be actively recording. Once the power returns however, your unit`s settings will have remained as you have selected and will be ready for recording again. Motion detection may not function as intended if using the camera to view out of a window and it would not be recommended.

- Answer Hello Jomo, thank you for your question. Although the cameras are water resistant they are not waterproof and we recommend installing them where they can be protected from direct elements.

- Answer Hi Jay, a separate monitor cannot be added as mentioned in the 'community answer'. Rest assured however that should the power go out, all your settings will remain and will function normally.

- Answer Don't think so. You'd have to get one of their other units that look like a dvr, that would connect to the internet and you could use on a phone. If you don't need or want to have it hooked to the internet and apps all the time it's good, works awesome for me. But yeah you can't view it live on your phone like other ones.

- Answer No unless you use skype. I am returning my unit as motion sensing at night is horrible and dealing with the manufacturer Defender-Usa is a waste. Look for another brand.

- Answer Yes, you can set it to record motion. And you can have the screen on all the time or put it in "sleep" mode.
