QuestionDefender doesn't have a tech support line. I had to call sales to get a trouble ticket started. The will call me tomorrow. Can tech support just answer the questions here so we don't have to go to the "contact form" on defender's website?

- Answer Hello Matt. Thank you for contacting Defender! While we do not offer an alternate antenna, one option that may work is to extend the antenna with a Teflon cable with 50 Ohm impedance. It is an SMA connection that would be needed. Please note that this is not a supported modification and while having no effect on warranty coverage, we are unable to provide assistance in regards to the change.

QuestionIs there a way to turn off the speaker? Also, could it possibly transmit to a neighbors baby monitor or walkie talkie. Would really like to disable it. The whole speaker thing makes me feel like the neighbours are listening in.

- Answer Michelle, thanks for the question. The only way would be to turn the volume down on the monitor. The cameras transmit on their own private network that is encrypted so there is no way that it would be overheard on another device Defender Support

QuestionWhy does the monitor black out for a few seconds (1-2 sec) when it stops recording and then go back to the recording screen and starts recording again? Is this normal? It's set for motion detection.

QuestionWhen it's on night vision mode, I can't see the person's face. The face is washed out by the light but the body is clear. When my flood lights are on or off, I still can't see the person's face clearly. How do I change the setting so I can see the face?

Question1.My settings is on motion detection. Why does it record continuously even though no one is in the room? Sensitivity is on level one. I have more questions but the box is limited on maximum characters. Thanks.

- Answer Great Question! There is not an option to turn off the red LED lights as these are the infrared lights used for night vision. Providing your cameras are mounted at a distance out of reach, these lights may also act as a prevention tool to deter those considering theft or damaging your property. QuestionWe recently purchased (June 2018) the Phoenix M2 and at first it worked great. However now when it is turned on it works for a few minutes and then goes out of range and stays out of range. If we unplug and plug back in camera works for a while.

QuestionThe monitor says "out of range" and then the screen is black. Then it goes back to the recording screen and records. The monitor is within 100 feet or less of the camera. It's in a stucco home. What does this mean?

QuestionMy camera will go out and say out of range, we unplugged camera and plug it back up ,and it will come back on for awhile before going back out of range

- Answer Hi Marley, thank you for your inquiry I am sorry to see that you are having a signal issue with your PhoenixM2 system. As this is a wireless system it is susceptible to interference from outside sources. This can be fixed by repairing the cameras to the monitor by following the steps in the manual!
