QuestionWould this laptop be a good choice for running MS 2020 Flight Simulator?

- Answer Yes! The only caveat is you need to run FS2020 in 1080p. The 2070 Max Q is not a 4K gaming card. I use MS2020 on this laptop at 1080p and you won’t know the difference. It runs beautifully in high settings and the OLED display is stunning! The screen is what makes this laptop special. You will never want to go back to a ips screen again! Make sure before running any games that you update via dell update app, and update via windows update and finally update to latest driver in Geforce experience app. It will run smooth and cool.

QuestionThe only game I ever play is the Sims. Is this a good laptop for just playing the Sims? I've had issues in the past where little things such as the water would just show up as a blue blob instead of looking like actual water, etc.

- Answer I have had this laptop for two weeks. I primarily use it for work with some gaming. When I use this for work, I am using Articulate and remoting into my work station at the office. This laptop is very quiet and runs great. When gaming on it, I have it on the desk or table. So I think it would be great for stock trading. It is a great and versatile computer.

- Answer It depends on what it was opened for. Geek Squad usually goes through the open boxes before they post them for sale. I've purchased many open box buys and they were like brand new. You can always call and ask them as well.

- Answer It does not and why would you want that? NVME is way faster than even a 2.5" Sata-6 SSD. Get an external drive for mass storage if you need it. Laptops already run warmer than desktops, adding a mechanical drive to this would increase power consumption and heat produced by I²R losses.

- Answer Yes, on the physical NVME SSD as a recovery partition. No external backup disk or thumb drive. You can create a recovery drive on a 16GB or larger thumb drive in Windows Settings.

- Answer 1TB unformatted. 953GB NVME PCIE SSD formatted without all the partitions needed for backup and recovery. 930GB out of the box. I cloned it to a faster NVME SSD and then placed the OEM (Crucial by Micron) NVME SSD in an external enclosure as a backup clone drive. I have 953GB on each drive. Hope that helps!

QuestionI read a few reviews that said they undervolted, but it appears the option is locked out (due to Plundervolt?). How do you unlock it? Reflash to an earlier BIOS or a custom one?

- Answer The voltage modification setting has been locked out as this laptop contains the processor with a security vulnerability (weird I know). Reflashing an earlier version is an option but you'll be introducing a security threat. I believe if anything the configuration in this laptop is overvolted to where the cooling system struggles to keep up when sustaining 100% load.

QuestionIs there a way to adjust refresh rate of the monitor from 60hz to anything higher, even at lower resolution? Not seeing an option under display settings. Stunning display quality yet the screen tears in FPS games are far too noticeable.

- Answer If screen tearing is a problem, your best bet is to turn V-Sync on and find game settings where the framerate is pegged to 60Hz constantly. That might mean lowering settings to medium, and/or going with 1920x1080 resolution. V-Sync is not as bad as people make it out to be... in fact, the old behavior of G-Sync was to behave like V-Sync once FPS matched the refresh rate. (Now I think the default is to start screen tearing once framerate is higher...?)
