Had a similar issue and installed the new Norton security suite. There is a scan called the power eraser. I ran that and it got rid of it. Had another laptop with a similar problem and the power eraser didn't work. Called Norton for their product remote support and deleted the add on/file from the drive. Worst case scenario you can backup your data and use system recovery to return the cpu back to factory condition.
