Questioncan you choose the amount of coffee for each cup individually or do you have to put beans in the grinder every time you make a cup

- Answer You can choose the amount of coffee individually. If you choose to use already ground beans than it has to be done for each cup, otherwise you fill up the grinder with your choice of beans and choose the size you would like.

QuestionHow many grams of beans are needed for each coffee size? Eg: for 8oz of hot coffee, how many grams are needed?

- Answer Not quite sure how to measure that directly because the machine requires a minimum quantity of beans in the reservoir below which it alarms out. I brew a 20oz cup every day on the "Bold" setting and it works out to about 24g per cup. I don't think the math is linear, but maybe you can get an idea from that.

- Answer You probably could, but the grinder would still have traces of whatever went before. Buy a second dedicated decaf machine.

QuestionI read in a review of the machine that you cannot use flavored whole beans in the DeLonghi machines as the flavor oils messes up the burrs in the grinder. Is this true? I saw someone else ask, but it was a non-answer not answered by DeLonghi. Thanks

- Answer I haven’t used flavored beans in this machine for that reason, have a separate burr grinder that can be taken apart and cleaned because yes, the oils and flavoring on beans will jam up the burrs.

QuestionDespite keeping up with cleaning and emptying the reservoirs before they are full, there is always water and coffee ground spillage when we pull the reservoir out. This is with regular use (not pre-ground). This seems like a flaw, is it?

QuestionMy machine is 6 months old and the infuser unit is not working properly. I called the 800 number and was told to soak it in soapy water which didn’t work. Called back and they are closed mid day. Not ideal for support on a $600 coffee maker!
