QuestionDoes the remote require direct line of sight to the receiver? I'd like to place the receiver it in a cabinet out of sight and control with the remote.

QuestionI have a pair of 30 year old Bose 901 speakers with active equalizer which is connected to the tape input/output sockets of an old NAD amp. I love the speakers and want to know if I can connect the equalizer to a new Denon amp or receiver and if so how.

QuestionWill this work with Apple Homekit and Siri or only Alexa. If not, are there any A/V receivers certified for use with Homekit and Siri? I have the Homepod but want to control my AV receiver through Siri voice commands.

- Answer As of today, this receiver can only be used with Alexa. It's not HomeKit certified and if it were I'd definitely use it with my HomePod. You can however use Airplay to pump out your Apple Music from your iOS device.

QuestionHow will this receiver handle 8 ohm impedance speakers?

- Answer 8 own nominal impedance is not unusual; for speakers. I'm sure it'll be just fine. My system has both 6 ohm and 8 ohm speakers and everything sounds just dandy.

- Answer I have 5.1 setup not 7.2 but have surround by selection of Dolby surround and when I check inputs and outputs they show all of my speakers and I get sound on all. For cable I seem to need hdmi and the same for my blue Ray which auto chose the correct out put

QuestionWhat is the best am/fm antenna to connect to a device such as this?

- Answer I use the fm Atenna that came with it I live in a big enough city not to really need a strong atenna how ever since the receiver is WiFi I can get local live stations with the radio app that is installed on the denon hope this helps

QuestionI am replacing a Pioneer AVR that is currently 120W per channel, My speaker system is all Klipsch and show a max of 140W. I see this AVR has 165W per channel on a 9.1 configuration. Will the 165W per channel destory my speakers or can they handle it?

QuestionCan anyone say from personal experience the AVR-740H will allow switching using Alexa between the 2 supported HDMI inputs CBL/SAT & MEDIA PLAYER? BB won't guarantee this and wants to sell me a Harmony Hub & remote for my -640H to do what the -740H can do?

  So the AVR-S640H has HEOS capabilities just as the AVR-S740H. So sending ALEXA commands to either unit should work.
