If your rack will only accommodate a unit that measures 16 and 1/2 inches wide this CD player will not fit. I measured mine which is not in a rack and the unit without the rack-mount ears is 17 inches.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A traditional rack-mountable audio unit is normally 19 inches in width. Your rack shelf space is very narrow. The Denon unit is 17 inches without the two screw mounts on both sides. With the screw mounts, it would fit a normal 19 inch wide rack. Because of your narrow rack width, if you need a unit that will play CD's individually with ease, I recommend that you use a DVD player. DVD players will play CD's just as easily as they play DVD discs. I have a DVD machine that I used for live performances before purchasing a Marantz professional CD player and later the Denon 300C MK11, and it worked fine. DVD players are snaller than most CD players. My DVD player would fit on your rack shelf.
