Hello Berb, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Total Clean features a spinning brush bar, that can be shut off when vacuuming shag type, or other thick/plush carpeting. The suction power of 180 air watts makes this machine powerful, but not so powerful that it would be hard to push. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
