Hello Dan, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Total Clean does feature a filter inside of the ball shell of the machine, however the filter does not need to be washed. Dyson Cinetic machines are our first machines to feature no filters to wash or replace, thanks to the oscillating Dyson Cinetic tips located in the cyclone pack.
