Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The majority of Dyson vacuums feature a spinning brush bar within the cleaner head. When vacuuming up pet or human hair, it can get wrapped around the bristles, and if not removed, can cause issues later on down the road if left to accumulate. We do have our cord-free models with a soft roller head, which was engineered specifically for bare flooring. This soft roller does not have any bristles, and it's great for vacuuming up pet hair, since it won't get stuck in the brush. The cord-free models that include this would be the V7, V8 and V10 Absolute variants. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
