- Answer If it's coming on and off then the flapper is stuck open. Remove all attachments and look in the barrel, you will see flapper. check for debris behind flapper

- Answer Hi there, The soft roller for the V6 units is compatible with all of the V6 cordless. If it is handheld or previous model it will not be compatible. Also the Direct drive head that comes with the V6 Animal, V6 Motorhead, V6 Absolute, V6 Total Clean is not compatible with the V6 Bagless.

QuestionI like this vacuum so much! did my stairs (carpet). it costed me $400 plus tax sadly within under a year, it stopped working altogether. I did not buy warranty and have not kept my receipt, would the company help fix or replace or did I just waste $450?

- Answer There really isn't much of a difference between all of Dysons cordless vacuums. Check running time(major difference) and accessories(mostly useless fillers in order to charge more). The more expensive ones probably have a longer running time after every charge(v6 animal has 20 minutes, v6 absolute or v8 has 40 minute running time).

QuestionThe filter stinks - have tried washing it in cold water and leaving to dry for 24 hours but it really reeks! Am I doing something wrong? Does the cloth come off? If so how?

- Answer You cannot take off the cloth filter. Try washing it with some antibacterial dish soap and wash thoroughly. Then let dry properly. I'm truly disappointed about this issue too.....it might not be just the filter. The dust cup, seals, and the screen/mesh gets really dirty. And it is frustrating you cannot take it all apart to clean. And most disappointing of all, is the lack of a HEPA filter. The seals get dust on them and cannot easily clean either. So, I had mine 2 days and started smelling dog smell....for this much money I expected more. In particular because of the animal name in it, that I expected a hepa filter. Oh well, life lesson learned.
