Does this work well on real hardwood floors? null

No, it scratches my Bellawood hardwood floor and it leaves a line of dirt/dust whenever I stop and change to a different area. The attachment that comes with the D7 is a beater bar that is made for carpet. Not good on hardwood. I am going to purchase the articulating hardwood floor attachment in hopes that it will work better and not scratch my floors. I think ithe hard floor attachment should be included with the purchase of the vacuum, as it is an expensive endeavor, especially if I will have to replace my $3000 floor after just a year of having it!

Initially, you won't notice a difference, but after a while you will scratches on your hardwood. At first I thought it was the housekeeper but then I realized it is the motorhead itself. For some reason, the wheels leave a mark on the floor after a while. I cleaned them and tried everything, now I am resigned to buy the overly expensive hardwood tool. To keep in mind for your budget.

My stairs are real wood and it works fine for me.
