What you stated is correct. It with pumpout either cold or warm based on your setting until the sensor detects your desired temperature.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It doesn't do that, it averages the rooms, so for example, i have the ecobee4 in my family room area, I have one sensor in my office, the 2 rooms i use most, so i have it set so it averages the 2 areas. Usually its 2to3 degrees warmer in my office, so basically when im in there yes it makes the other rooms cooler by 1to2 degrees, but unless your house is really poorly insulated, it shouldnt effect you to much. Only reason its warmer in my office because there is 3 windows and a skylight facing west... I also have 1 other sensor in my bedroom, as thats facing east, if i decide to sleep in, it knows(intgrated with smartthings) to keep my room cooler as i sleep and as the sun rises. Setting up these things isnt for ur average user. Took about 2to3 hours to do this and work flawlessly, but well worth it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You are correct in that this is not a zoned system. The thermostat will take into account the temperature reading of the remote sensors when deciding when to start and stop the HVAC system, but it does not control airflow in any way. In my case the thermostat is in the living room and the remote sensor is in a more distant family room, both served by the same HVAC system. The thermostat will try to average out the temperatures so both rooms will be comfortable, but one of the rooms is going to be either above or below the setpoint, depending on the system mode (heat or AC). It doesn't work as well as a true zoned system, but then again it is much less expensive and very easy to install and use. There is another benefit (I think) when everyone is in the family room and the fireplace is on. The remote sensor will detect that the family room is warm, no one is in the living room and will reduce the amount of time the HVAC runs. This seems to be how our system is working.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. What day extra room sensor does his monitor at the room you put it in it does not make it exactly what the temperature is set on the thermostat but it will keep it with in a couple degrees it may make the rest of the house a little hotter but it will bring the coldest room up a couple more degrees it’s more less just an average
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This thermostat doesn’t create zoning. It simply is capable of using room sensors to detect where there is motion and making sure that room/area is at the temperature you have set.
