It all depends on what you currently have and how it's wired to the current thermostat. It can be as simple as swapping the old one out for the new or having to access the circuit board to rewire using the additional tools provided in the Ecobee4 box. If you run into trouble though they have a great support team that you can take a picture and email to them while on the phone and they can walk you through what to do if you get stuck.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It took me about 30 minutes to install the device and another 20-30 to set it up on my phone. I'm not the most handy of people either. If you download the app before you install it gives you step by step instructions and videos right on your phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depends on how complex your old one is. Mine had 4 wires i marked them as i uninstalled and screwed them into echobee took 10 minutes. I have any ac and furnace only. If u have multiple devices like pumps and other stuff for other systems it might be more complex.
